Niel Bowerman
Niel Bowerman is a physicist with a background in climate
modelling. He was co-founder of
Climatico, a group which produced
independent analyses of national and international climate change policy,
and sat as its Executive Director until January this year.
He was Primary media liaison for the UK Youth Delegation to Copenhagen
in 2009, sat on the executive committee and worked as an analyst for
G8 Research Group, UK, 2006 to 2008 and was spokesperson and co-founder of
The Climate Justice Project,
UK, a student-led campaign advocating
Contraction & Convergence - an international framework
for reducing global carbon emissions. He has also worked as a fundraiser
for International Association for Human Values
in Bangalore, India and was Environment & Ethics Officer at
Oxford University Student Union, 2005 to 2007.
He is currently doing doctoral research at
Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics,
University of Oxford supervised by
Dr. Myles Allen on the topic of Understanding human influence on
extreme weather risk.
