Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering in UH Bristol.
The nuclear medicine physics section supports nuclear medicine
imaging at radiology departments at Bristol Royal Infirmary
and Southmead Hospital (North Bristol NHS Trust),
gives some support to the nuclear medicine brain imaging service at
Frenchay Hospital, supports use of radioisotopes in surgery
(sentinel node biopsy) at UH Bristol and Weston General Hospital,
and provides a non-imaging service to Bristol Royal
Hospital for Children, Bristol Oncology Centre,
and the renal unit at Southmead Hospital.

David studied physics at St Catherine's College Oxford (BA),
theoretical solid state Physics at Durham University (PhD),
Moral Philosophy at Newcastle University (Certificate), and
History of Art with the Open University.
He has more than 15 years experience in Nuclear Medicine Physics.
He is a member of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine
Nuclear Medicine Software Quality Group (2006-present),
and is organising a national audit of gated myocardial perfusion SPECT.
He is the external supervisor to a PhD student in the University of
Bristol Department of Computer Science, with Professor Mirmehdi,
studying 4D-image segmentation in myocardial perfusion imaging,
and is an external lecturer at the University of the West of England.
He is currently starting a collaboration with
Professor Hutton at the Medical Physics Research Group at the
Institute of Nuclear Medicine, UCLH, on image segmentation in
	oncology SPECT/CT.
